Hello, and welcome to the
Honey Weimaraners
web page. My name is
Frances "Tyne" Horvath. I am a devoted Weimaraner fan and
dog enthusiast whom has had the good fortune to share my life with the
beautiful Weimaraners you see pictured on this page. I have been actively
showing and training these great dogs for over 25 years and have retained
membership in good standing with the Weimaraner Club Of America since 1991.
I began my experience in the sport of purebred dogs while showing my Weimaraner
"Ch. Stainless Steel Honeybee" to her Championship title in the conformation ring (show ring) in
1992. I went on to exhibit Honeybee's offspring successfully in the
conformation ring. In the last few years, I have been actively training my Long
Hair Weimaraner "Honeys Valkyrie Ziggy Stardust RN, TD, CGC" also known as "Ziggy".
Ziggy has earned his Rally Novice and Tracking Dog titles as well as his Canine
Good Citizen title. I am currently working with my long hair Weimaraners Ziggy
and Schultz in agility, tracking and obedience through the Youngstown All Breed
Training Club.

The Weimaraner or "grey ghost" is of German pointer
descent. The Weimaraner is a determined gun dog in the field as well
as a loving companion in the home snuggled up next to it's owner. The Weim
is very affectionate and a loyal dog to his owner, yet reserved with strangers
until reassured by his owner. For this reason, they make very good guardians of both home and property. A Weimaraner is an active dog and
must be properly trained and exercised by his or her owner. They are not
a breed for the busy owner with little time to give his dog.
The short smooth coat of the Weimaraner is easy to
care for, yet beautiful and sleek. This charismatic member of the sporting
club is medium to medium large in size. The long hair variety is less common
and can compete for a title in all categories except the conformation ring
through the American Kennel Club. The Canadian Kennel Club permits the long hair Weimaraner to be shown in the conformation ring. |
